When they double in size with the speed of light

The first couple weeks are the hazy ones. They are also the most magic and fast fleeting. Be sure to book your newborn session within the first 12 days of the due date. Yep, they grow up that fast!

The best time to photograph a newborn is around day 7-12, but you do want to schedule this in advance because their's features literally change every second, and you don't want to miss this precious stage of your kids looking like a miniature wrinkled old man/woman with flakey skin *) It's the shortest time BEFORE they get to look like you or daddy, or a sibling. The shortest time when they transition from being an embryo to a real human being.
